To play at their best, brass players need to hear clearly, but for a long career you need to protect from the high volumes of solo practice or group performance. Traditional earplugs block the entire ear, creating the “Occlusion effect”, that strange ‘hollow’ sound of your own voice you get when you block your ear. This makes them unsuitable for all musicians, but especially bad for brass musicians who hear themselves through sound from the mouthpiece conducted by the bone.
Minerva Brass MusicPlugs present the solution; by combining deep fitting custom ear moulds with a vented chamber the occlusion effect is reduced. Combined with the custom fitted comfort and flat attenuation filters, you’ll hear everything as usual, just as if someone turned the volume down.

We offer our unique filter exchange program should you wish to change.

The filters are interchangeable if you need to swap to a different filter strength as your environment changes. Filters are also available to purchase separately.

Filter exchange is available within 30 days from dispatch of order. One exchange per order.
